Position: Senior Pastor of Restoration Christian Fellowship

SUMMARY:

The Senior Pastor will be a person of established and true character, qualified to preach and teach the Word of God, as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. The Senior Pastor must be willing to perform his/her duties in accordance with the constitution and bylaws of this church. We are a purpose driven church, fulfilling the five functions of the great commandment and great commission: worship, ministry, fellowship, discipleship, and mission. The Senior Pastor is responsible for the overall health and direction of Restoration Christian Fellowship

Education: Formal education and scholarly work are considered important qualifications but are not required. A bachelor’s degree in theology, religious studies, pastoral ministry or a related field from an accredited seminary or Bible college is highly preferred. Master’s degree in theology or pastoral ministry and a certificate in pastoral counseling is desirable.

Training & Experience: At least five years of experience in a pastoral leader role (e.g., Senior Pastor, Associate Pastor, or Youth Pastor.)

COMPENSATION: $123K-147K total compensation package (Base Salary, Paid Leave, Vacation, Holiday, Sick & Personal Leave, Life Insurance, Health Insurance, Retirement)

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Called by the Lord to teach, preach, and evangelize the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

 An individual of proven character, who is characterized by a vital, spirit filled walk with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and models the five purposes in his/her everyday life. This spiritual commitment should be evidenced by regular church attendance (including spouse if married), voluntary ministry involvement outside the area of this position, and supporting the work of the church through tithes and offerings.

 Experience leading, managing, and growing an organized church of Christian believers and supporting the spiritual and social needs of the local community.

 Exhibit strong management, leadership, people, and administrative skills along with a passion for effective placement and utilization of key staff personnel.

 Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

 Experience leading/building a successful Youth and/or Young Adults Ministry.

 Experience supporting the development of non-profit programs and organizations.

 Solid track record successfully managing operating budgets in excess of $1 million.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 The Senior Pastor is responsible for leading the church to function as a New Testament church. The pastor will, by example, lead the church in discipleship and evangelism. He/She is responsible to help create, develop, and oversee the small group ministry in the church, and to lead by example in creating and leading a group. All of our church leaders are expected to lead a small group and help fulfill the ministry of “making disciples.”

 The Senior Pastor will be a faithful student of the Bible and as a preacher/teacher to present well-organized, Bible-based sermons and lessons that edify, challenge, and encourage the church as well as promote the passionate worship of God.

 The Senior Pastor will preach and teach the Word of God in order to prepare God’s people for works of service and to equip laborers and leaders. The Pastor shall also seek to develop new leaders by mentoring, teaching, and giving the opportunities to preach as appropriate. The Pastor is responsible for planning ahead on the “Quarterly Planner” to keep staff informed of future events and topics.

 The Senior Pastor will support the church’s youth and children’s ministry programs that prepare our youth and children for independent Christian adult living, foster a fellowship of believers, and promote Bible-based life choices.

 The Senior Pastor will (1) provide leadership for Sunday worship, (2) watch over the spiritual welfare of the church, (3) administer the ordinances and perform ceremonies including baptism, Lord’s Supper, marriages, funerals, baby dedications, etc., (4) instruct the members in true and practical Christian living, and (5) attend monthly local church Pastor’s meetings to help organize and participate in community services (Emphasis is on raising up new young leaders to assist in ministry and to help perform these functions). The Pastor should regularly raise up new Pastors/Ministers to be ordained by the church.

 The Senior Pastor will provide executive leadership to the pastoral, administrative, and secretarial staff (currently our Executive Pastor, Believe Ministry Pastor, Interim Belong Ministry Pastor, Interim Behave Ministry Pastor, and Church Executive Assistant). The church organizational chart is attached and will show the relationship of these various positions.

 The Senior Pastor serves as President of the RCF Board of Directors and an ex-officio director for the RCM Board of Directors. The Senior Pastor will maintain a good working relationship with the Board of Directors, Elders and other RCF Ministry leaders.

 The Senior Pastor will partner with outside community organizations.

 The Senior Pastor will provide guidance to the Elders in exercising their responsibility for leadership and spiritual development of the Ministers and Deacons.
